My Dad My hero

Every time I thought to write for you,
I always postponed my decision thinking what will be so new,
Will I be able to cover all those things which,
I believe I cherished having from you:

Being mentor you taught me to be fearless,
When I didn't score good in tests you made me feel
That hard work is only key to feel high and get result seamlessly,
My every walk was guided by your shadow,
As you have always protected me from that scary dark crow.

I have been very shy when it came to have dialogue with you,
But that has not affected my love for you.

You always have given me wings to fly high,
At the same time you taught me to be on earth and walk through narrow road passing by.

You may find me lazy sometimes when I escape doing some work assigned to me by you,
But back stage the story is something different,
As I want to have protective shelter in form of you in everything that I do.

Agreed I should act responsible more,
But that takes me away from your door.

When I was partying hard with friends,
And entered late at home,
You never questioned me why was I so irresponsible,
I guess that freedom has sown maturity in me,
Which now is helping me to grow and excel.

Even at this age when I am termed independent by folks.
I always seek your support round the clock.
I am not sure whether I will be able to fit into grid of good son,
But dad you have always been my hero,
Who has made me super glad.
