My Mother

The morning I wake up,
I get my tea and breakfast on my table.

The time I get ready for work,
I get my lunch packed nicely in the bag.

Evening when I return from work,
She greets me with a soulful smile.

All these, she keeps on doing daily,
And only mother can perform these not so easy chores calmly.

One day when I was having my lunch packed by my mother,
I ponder what all it takes to be a mother,
As she has sacrificed many things for me.

I keep on asking one thing or another from her the moment my day starts
And she fulfils my every need,
Ignoring this materialistic stuff somewhere beneath is her ever never ending care for me.

She is the best mother, but I doubt am I good son.

I remember when I was posted at different location at start of my career,
There had not been single day when I might have not missed her,
The tears many times travelled my eyes,
And I just wanted to see her.

My mother is the most valuable asset in my balance sheet
With out whom start up like me will not withstand the odd and even journey called life.
